Today after a sleep in a proper bed that felt so amazing, the group headed
off to our last community of the trip, Phoum Boun. When we first arrived
by Tuk Tuk we were given a tour of the Community. We were then divided
into two groups to participate in a ''community activity''.
My group were welcomed into a woman's home where along with her help
we made a traditional Cambodian dish. After this was finished we had a
"community talk". My group was spoken to by one of the community leaders and
teachers. She shared about her life within the community, how she came to
live there and also about her family.
Yet again Bagettes! were for lunch.
After a good break we had our final Khmer lesson. It was good fun but not
that many improvements had been made! Our final teaching and reading
lessons followed our own lesson. The kids at this community had such drive
and ambition and it really inspired every one of us there. After a sad
good-bye to all the people that had helped us through the four days we
returned to the comfort of our hotel.
There is a common feeling of the group coming together as one, and
every day that goes past we are all getting closer together.
We are all really looking forward to the second half of our trip.
