Today we went to both the Krang Angkrang Pei and Kork Khleang Muoy community.
At Krang Angkrang Pei, we took part in a cooking class which was amazing!
i was actually good at it and we made banana cake! When finished making it
we played with that lady's cats and one fell asleep in my lap which was so
cute. After, we then went to a community talk where the lady was so happy
and open towards the work we were doing and she was so appreciative!
We then had a Khmer lesson which was pretty hard with the accents and then
tought children english and how to read! They were so enthusiastic during
the class. We then rode our bikes to Kork Khlean Muoy and started to teach
and read, also playing with the children with the skipping rope! After
teaching at Kork Chleang Muoy, we rode our bikes back to krang Angrang
where the children were waiting for us and swarmed us saying 'eiu' which
means they want a piggy back, or to swing them around or just to pick them
up.
My favourite memory of today was when this little boy came up to me out of
nowhere when we were walking back to the house and he grabbed my hand and
started holding it and swinging on it and walked home. At night, basically
all the children in the community came to our house and we were singing
'baby' by Justin Beiber with them and we played games with them, danced
with them. We could tell we affected the childrens lives which was a great
feeling.
